I thought it about time we showed you where we are staying in Crotone. For the first 11 days while Pacer and Talia are still in Crotone we are staying in a nice little one bedroom apartment right in the centre of Crotone. Our apartment was on the top floor but facing the back which was quiet but didn’t have as nice a view. The front door opened up into a pedestrian mall where the street was blocked off to traffic, if it is a nice day it was full of groups of mainly older men shooting the breeze. I don’t know where the women were, probably off shopping somewhere.
On Sunday morning I heard an opera singer and thought someone was playing a CD but realised that the sound was getting louder. It was a man walking the streets singing opera at the top of his voice. He was really good who ever he was. Only in Crotone.
We have already got our favourite eating hang outs. Just across the road we have Colorado Pizzeria were the Potato and Pepperoni pizza is to die for. Only €1.50 for a huge slice. Then its diagonal across the road the Cafe Italia for a cappuccino for €1.20. Food is cheap in Crotone.

Soon when Talia and Pacer leave for Turkey tomorrow we will be moving into their apartment which is quite a bit cheaper only €350.00 per month. It is in the old part of town with all the narrow winding cobblestone streets. I will post a video of it after we move in, in the meantime here is a video of our walk back from the apartment in the pouring rain.

We are about to head off on a road trip to Rome for the English Assembly over the weekend. All of the English group are sharing an apartment. Dave a brother from the US (Washington DC) is meeting us there and coming back with us and staying just around the corner from us in Crotone for a couple of weeks. Looking forward to getting to know him.
